Apex Sentinel™ Integrated Wave Attenuator

The Apex Sentinel ™ is Landmark’s integrated wave attenuator. It is a high-performance floating breakwater engineered to protect marina assets while seamlessly integrating with the overall dock layout. Featuring deep vertical panels with up to 8 feet of draft, the system effectively breaks up wave energy to create calm, protected marina conditions. Built with a heavy-duty welded steel pipe frame, it delivers exceptional durability, extended service life, and low maintenance. Decking, fascia, and dock fingers tie directly into the main dock system, allowing for future expansion and added revenue opportunities.
Key Design Features
Integrated Apex Dock Platform
Sentinel™ utilizes Landmark’s proven Apex dock system as the primary structural element, allowing the wave attenuator to function as part of the marina rather than as a separate perimeter asset.
Dual Side-Panel Attenuation
Two welded steel vertical side panels run parallel to the main dock and extend downwards 8 feet below the waterline to block, trap and dissipate wave energy. By extending well below the surface, the Apex Sentinel™ reduces both surface chop and subsurface wave energy, improving calm-water performance compared to shallow or surface-only attenuation systems.
Modular & Scalable Design
Apex Sentinel™ sections can be configured to suit site-specific wave conditions, marina layouts, and phased development strategies. To maximize revenue, the leeward side of “The Sentinel” can accommodate dock fingers, allowing operators to create additional protected slips.

High-Mass Attenuation Assembly
Barricuda™ employs a mass-based attenuation strategy that disrupts wave energy through weight, inertia, and resistance, delivering reliable performance in high-energy marine environments.
Concrete Barricade Ballast
Industrial concrete road barricades are integrated into each module to provide consistent, repeatable ballast mass, increasing stability and reducing wave transmission.
Industrial Rubber Energy-Damping Matting
Heavy-duty rubber matting is incorporated alongside the concrete ballast to absorb impact energy, dampen vibration, and reduce wave reflection and structural shock loading.
Heavy-Duty Steel Flotation System
Each Barricuda™ module incorporates two 30-inch diameter steel pipe pontoons, and one 24-inch diameter steel center pipe, providing substantial flotation capacity, structural redundancy, and torsional stiffness.
Wide Surface Profile
An 8-foot surface width increases disruption at the waterline, breaking up wave form and reducing energy transmission before waves reach protected infrastructure.
Apex DynaLink IC™ Modular Connections
Individual Barricuda™ modules are joined using Landmark’s proprietary Apex DynaLink IC™ connectors, allowing the system to manage dynamic loads, reduce noise, and accommodate movement without sacrificing strength or long-term durability. The controlled-movement allows the system to absorb energy rather than rigidly transferring loads from module to module.
