WORKPLACE SAFETY

Safety is fundamental to every project delivered by Landmark’s Marine Division. Working in marine environments introduces additional challenges and requires careful planning. Over-water work that includes barge operations, working with heavy equipment, pile driving, anchoring, changing weather conditions, and variable water levels present dynamic risks that demand disciplined execution and a strong safety culture. Our responsibility is to manage these risks proactively while maintaining the high safety standards our clients expect.

Marine environments require constant situational awareness. Every marine project begins with detailed planning and hazard assessment. Site-specific safety plans are developed to reflect the realities of each project. Our crews are trained in marine-specific procedures such as working over water, fall protection, safe rigging and lifting, and emergency response. Equipment inspections, pre-task planning, and clear communication are part of our daily routine.

Landmark’s safety program is built on accountability at every level. Supervisors lead by example, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure that safe work practices are consistently followed. Our teams are empowered to identify hazards, stop work if required, and participate in continuous improvement. We believe strong safety performance supports project efficiency, protects our people and partners, and reinforces the professionalism that defines Landmark’s Marine Division.

Landmark is SAFE Certified, holds COR BC and COR Alberta certifications and is a member of ISNETWORLD. We are always promoting the message that safety matters and we will continue to lead the way in safety awareness so that everyone wins when it comes to safety!
